Training courses
ESDS will be running a variety of training events, workshops and courses for users at varying levels of expertise. Events
will be advertised on the Forthcoming ESDS Events web page as they arise. These include:
- introductory workshops on 'How do I get started?' to demonstrate searching the ESDS site,
registering for data, exploring data online, downloading and carrying out analyses
- short courses on data handling and analysis in SPSS, Stata and MS Excel
- workshops that combine training in
the use of CAQDAS packages and qualitative data analysis in collaboration with
ESRC CAQDAS Networking Project
- topic-based courses drawing on a range of data based on the key themes
- 'data confrontation' sessions on particular datasets
- courses on the hierarchy of complex data, linking records over time and weighting data
- courses on key analytic skills will be held in conjunction with other training providers
- sessions on best practice in creating data and documentation
ESDS collaborates with other social science resource and information providers to host training events. Any organisation interested in hosting a training event should
