Teaching and learning resources

Useful teaching and learning resources from ESDS include:

• specially prepared teaching datasets based on our most popular survey series
• methods and data analysis guides providing introductions to re-using data using particular methods or software

We have created dedicated resources for teachers based on our data collections. They can be used by postgraduates, undergraduates and researchers. They include:

	British Cohort Study Malaise Inventory Teaching Resource	An online resource for teachers who want to use data to demonstrate research principles and methods. The data and resources are designed to be used with SPSS.
	Exploring diverse interview types	This teaching pack provides instructors and students with materials designed to assist in teaching qualitative interviewing.
	Exploring non-interview methods	This resource provides summaries of different ways in which researchers can collect qualitative data, including focus groups, diaries, online data collection, and visual methods.

	Exploring the fear of crime	This resource provides the key steps involved in analysing the fear of crime using the British Crime Survey.

	Countries and Citizens: Linking international macro and micro data	An interactive resource with tutorials, activities, study guides and videos, showing how to combine data from country-level aggregate databanks with individual-level survey datasets.
	UN Millennium Development Goals e-learning materials	This resource guides participants through using the international data service and provides learners with an increased understanding of the data available.
