The ESDS Data Catalogue contains over 5,000 datasets with more than 35 tailor-made or sampler survey datasets for teaching purposes. These datasets
are typically subsets of the larger UK government surveys, making them easier for students to handle. Both the study methods and data can be downloaded, free
of charge.
There are also over 15 teaching datasets in the ESDS Nesstar Catalogue where data can be browsed and visualised online without the need for local statistical analysis software. These include samplers from the UK longitudinal studies.
We also provide an overview of teaching datasets created for the most popular UK national government survey data series.
ESDS dataset user guides also include questionnaires and detailed methodological information on fieldwork practices, sampling and data collection methods. These can be useful teaching aids in their own right. They can be found in the documentation table of the catalogue record for data collections.
