UK data service providers/resources

The Access to Archives (A2A) database hosted by The National Archives (TNA) contains catalogues of archives held across England and dating from the 900s to the present day.

The Archives Hub provides a single point of access to collection level descriptions of archives held in a number of UK universities and colleges. The Archives Hub forms one part of the UK's National Archives Network, alongside other related networking projects. Research collections held in university archives that might include data can be searched for here.

ARCHON is the principal information gateway for UK archivists and users of manuscript sources for British history and the National Register of Archives is an online index to the national database of British history manuscript sources. These services are hosted and maintained by the The National Archives. The database includes national and regional archives aqnd museums. Local oral history collections can be found through this search.

Arts and Humanities Data Service (AHDS) hosting five service providers from various Higher Education institutions, focusing on the discovery, creation and preservation of digital collections in the arts and humanities.

Qual-Software JISCmail archive discussing issues relating to the use of qualitative software and the use of other technologies in fieldwork. Hosted by the Computer Assisted Qualitative Data Analysis Software (CAQDAS) Networking project at the University of Surrey.

Economic and Social Research Council the ESRC's database of research awards and publications.
