Census data workshop: postgraduate training day
Date: 15 April 2011
Location: University of Manchester
This workshop has now passed. See slides by following link below.
This workshop aims to provide postgraduate students and researchers with an introduction to the range of information available from the UK Census, and the ways in which it can be accessed. It is an ideal opportunity to gain familiarity with this unparalleled socio-economic resource through a mix of short presentations and hands-on experience in computer-based practicals, and to meet some of the staff who provide support for its use. The day will include a general introduction to the census, and to the main census outputs (aggregate and interaction statistics, boundary data, cross-sectional individual level data (SARs) and longitudinal data). No previous experience is assumed.
This workshop will include an introduction to the data services offered by Census.ac.uk and is aimed at those studying or working in the UK higher and further education sector.
This workshop is FREE OF CHARGE, however, your place will not be confirmed until we have received your deposit cheque. See terms and conditions. Please complete the BOOKING FORM (link below) before sending the cheque.
