Cross-national survey research topic: Volunteering
Volunteering is an important part of modern day society. The definition of volunteering is challenging, particularly
when looking at cross-country comparisons. Although there is no universally accepted way of measuring volunteering,
there are a number of questions around participation in volunteering, the amount of time spent volunteering, the
kinds of organisations volunteers help, the importance of volunteering and membership to voluntary organisations.
