- The Millennium Development Goals and the Road to 2015 Building on Progress and Responding to Crisis - a short e-book to provide a concise and accessible explanation of the goals themselves. This book draws on the World Bank’s Global Monitoring Report and the World Development Indicators to analyse the international statistical record and the findings of researchers around the world to report on the progress toward theMDGs over the past decade. The book's online companion, the World Bank eAtlas of the MDGs, features worldwide mapping, timeline graphing, and ranking tables, allowing users to map the progress of goals, targets, and indicators; compare data; and export and share graphics.

- The United Nations Millennium Summit: In September 2000, building upon a decade of major United Nations conferences and summits, world leaders came together at United Nations Headquarters in New York to adopt the United Nations Millennium Declaration, committing their nations to a new global partnership to reduce extreme poverty and setting out a series of time-bound targets - with a deadline of 2015 - that have become known as the Millennium Development Goals.

- Millennium Project: The Millennium Project was commissioned by the United Nations Secretary-General in 2002 to recommend a concrete action plan for the world to reverse the grinding poverty, hunger and disease affecting billions of people. Headed by Professor Jeffrey Sachs, the Millennium Project was an independent advisory body and presented its final report, Investing in Development: A Practical Plan to Achieve the Millennium Development Goals, to the Secretary-General in January 2005. The Millennium Project was then asked to continue operating in an advisory capacity through the end of 2006.

- Millennium Development Goals Country Reports: UN Country Teams have been helping prepare national reports that measure progress towards the MDGs. The emphasis is on national ownership as well as accurate benchmarking of progress, so wherever possible these are done in close collaboration with the government as well as civil society groups. So far , national MDG reports had been published in over 140 countries; in the best cases they have led to better policy analysis, a sharper focus on priorities, clearer target setting and ultimately to improved national economic and social policies.
- United Nations Development Programme (UNDP): UNDP is working with a wide range of partners to help create coalitions for change to support the goals at global, regional and national levels, to benchmark progress towards them, and to help countries to build the institutional capacity, policies and programmes needed to achieve the MDGs.
- Millennium Development Goals Asia Pacific: Provides Governments and key stakeholders in Asia-Pacific with easy access to information on various MDG initiatives in Asia and the Pacific as well as other parts of the world with a view of supporting regional solidarity, national policy making and planning and local level implementation of strategies and programmes for achieving the MDGs.
- Millennium Development Goals in Latin America and the Caribbean: The Economic Commission for Latin American and the Caribbean (ECLAC) has been working across the themes contained in the MDGs, monitoring its indicators for the LAC region, technically assisting its member countries in monitoring and reporting, and developing methodological approaches to tackle regional statistical problems.

- United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP): UNEP supports assessments of environmental conditions and trends including building the capacity of its many partners to generate the information necessary for sound environmental decision making to support sustainable development and the achievement of the Millennium Goals.
