The step-by-step activities below are related to topics covered in the 'Guide to ESDS International' section of these e-learning materials. They require that you are able to use your computer to multitask, i.e. have several software applications and web pages open at a time and work between them. Each activity is also available as an e-tutorial.
- Search the ESDS International data portfolio: In this activity, you will search for data on a key topic within the UN MDGs – Maternal Mortality in Africa.
- Access MDG data using Beyond 20/20 (UK FE and HE only): In this activity you will access the United Nations Common Database using Beyond 20/20 to find, subset and visualize data from two MDG Indicators 5.1: Maternal mortality ratio by 100,000 live births and MDG Indicator 5.2: Births attended by skilled health personnel, percentage. (Note: an activity on accessing MDG data for users outside the UK FE and HE community is also available.)
- Learn how to cite international data: In this activity you will discover how to cite international data correctly by acknowledging the copyright and other intellectual property owners.
