I have downloaded the General Household Survey, 1991-1992
and have a question regarding variable 'wkstate', the number of working hours.
What does 'n a hours' stand for?
Answer
Wkstate is a derived variable to
determine whether the respondent is working full-time or part-time. The category
'Working NA hours' means that the respondent is working but they did not give
as answer to the question about how many hours they normally work. You can
find this out (and similar queries) by looking at the derived variable specifications
in the documentation on the ESDS
web site.
