We have compiled detailed information about variables that are consistent over time on specific surveys.
A GHS Time Series Dataset 1972-2004, compiled by ONS, is available from ESDS.
We have also created some look-up tables to show the comparability between the 2001 Census variables and the variables available from the large-scale government surveys.
ESDS is now part of the UK Data Service.
These ESDS web pages will remain during the transition, but may not be up to date.
