Ethnicity
Information on Ethnicity from
the GHS has changed significantly over time. The following Excel file provides:
(a) details of the changes to Ethnicity for the period 1984 to 2003-2004. A colour coding system is used to indicate
the years where the variable categories are the same; a change to the colour
indicates a change to the categories
(b) three derived variables which are separately coloured for the period 1984 to 2003-2004.
The accompanying Word/PDF document
provides more detailed information about the changes over time and SPSS syntax
to derive each variable for corresponding years.
