In April 2001 the Family Expenditure Survey (1961-2001) and the National Food Survey (1994-2000) were combined to form the Expenditure and Food Survey (EFS). From January 2008, the EFS became known as the Living Costs and Food Survey (LCF), a module of Integrated Household Survey (IHS). For further information on the change from EFS to LCF, see Volume A of the LCF 2008 User Guide, held with SN 6385 in the table below.
