    Approximately 200 variables checked against documentation.  
    Majority found to be sound.  See below for minor changes.

    Converted documentation checked fully. Data variables and 
    number of cases etc., checked.

2.4 Summary of value-added outputs: 

    Labels missing for: Sex1 and Sex2 
    Labels added:       1 = Male and 2 = Female

    Label changed:  DOBDAYA:  
    Original Label read: 'Day of Interview, 1977-78'
    Changed to read:     'Day of Birth, 1977-78'

    Variables SGRYA, SGRYB, SGRYC, AREACDA, AREACDB AND AREACDC
    have all been removed by The Data Archive for confidentiality 
    purposes. 

    These were also removed from the machine-readable list file.

    Variable list, frequency and descriptive files produced for
    archiving purposes.

    The paper questionnaires have been scanned, amalgamated with
    the machine readable Data Dictionary and all converted to pdf
    files (portable document format) using Adobe Acrobat Writer 3.0.
    The files were then fully bookmarked and an 'Index' file 
    produced for ease of navigation through the documentation.
