SN: 33071 National Food Survey 1974 - Quality of documentation A proportion of documentation for all the National Food Survey studies originates in paper format; this paper documentation has been scanned in and converted to PDF. The quality of some of the pages in the studies ARE POOR, due to the poor quality of the originals. Wherever possible documents have been substituted with similar items from different years of the National Food Survey. Users of earlier years of the survey who are having difficulty ascertaining which data are in which files are recommended to refer to later years of the documentation, specifically the bookmarked section entitled "Description of data files (SPSS export). For SN 4512 National Food Survey 2000 this is in User Guide Volume 1 (a4512uab.pdf) that can be accessed via its online catalogue record and also via this link: http://www.data-archive.ac.uk/doc/4512/mrdoc/pdf/a4512uab.pdf Food and drink measurements Although food & drink are recorded in the diaries according to the purchased units, imperial weights & volumes are converted to metric when the data is keyed into the database.
