Depositing data in the ESDS collection
When you are ready to deposit your data, complete the following steps:

fill in the
Data collection deposit form and submit electronically

prepare data and documentation according to best practice guidance on how to
manage and share data and submit these by post to the address below or
via secure electronic transmission

sign and date the Licence
Agreement in hard copy, keep a copy for your records and send the original to:

ESDS will confirm receipt of the forms and data. The next steps will be the
review, preparation and cataloguing of the data by staff at the UK Data
Archive. For detailed information on in-house data preparation, see

Finally, when data are fully processed and ready to be released to the user
community you will be notified. ESDS will:

on request, provide an annual usage report
As a depositor you are required to notify the ESDS of any:

publications arising from the data collection, to
maintain currency in the catalogue record

changes in contact details
For your added protection, ESDS reserves the right to suspend or remove a user
from the service or remove any content:
- if it is considered that there is, or is likely to be, a breach of security
- if it is believed that use of the material is contrary to the terms and conditions
- or for any other reason at our sole discretion
ESDS will try to discuss any incident with appropriate users before taking action in these respects but cannot guarantee to do so.
