Contributing to UKDA-store

If the Acquisitions Review Committee recommends accession of the dataset through UKDA-store you will be specifically asked to submit data to the system.

UKDA-store is a self-archiving facility for managing and sharing research outputs. UKDA-store enables a greater number of research data outputs to be shared by researchers, particularly in cases where the UKDA may not have the resources to acquire and store these data, or where the data simply do not fit the UKDA’s collections development policy. The UKDA-store system can also link to other kinds of outputs, such as academic publications held in existing repositories. This includes existing publications held in ESRC Society Today which holds primary outputs such as publications arising from research grants.

For more infomation about the development see What is UKDA-store?.

The first phase of UKDA-store is geared towards ESRC award holders who are required to offer data outputs for sharing under the terms of their award contract.

The first steps in contributing to UKDA-store are to:

  • prepare your data and documentation following best practice guidance on managing and sharing data
  • upload your data into UKDA-store
  • publish your data in UKDA-store
An FAQ for ESRC researchers contributing to UKDA-store has been created to help answer any initial queries.

See the Manage and share data web pages on the UKDA web site for expert guidance on data management and sharing, with detailed information on:
