ESDS provides guidance and training on many aspects of data management and sharing as part of the UK Data Archive managing and sharing data training programme. Workshops are co-ordinated by the UK Data Archive and are also held in conjunction with other organisations. Topics covered include:

consent, confidentiality and ethics in data sharing
copyright and the use of existing resources
data documentation and metadata
data formats and software
data storage, back-up and security
