Data management
The UK Data Archive web site provides guidance for all data creators, data managers and
data depositors on how to
manage and share data.
Advice is divided into a number of key areas or modules providing detailed
information on each topic. These cover: why and how to share data; consent,
ethics and confidentiality; copyright, data documentation; data formats and
software (inclusing transcription and digitisation), and data storage, back-up
and security. FAQs are also provided. In additon to these web pages, bespoke
advice and training is provided by ESDS staff throughout the life span of a
research project - from the initial award application, through the data
creation phase to the end of the active research phase.
